Decide what we do together
A feminist approach to participatory democracy
Participation in governance processes by women in many contexts is marred by practices, policies and approaches that are not inclusive. This proposal would conduct research that would highlight key elements for governments and citizens to factor in, when implementing participatory democracy initiatives, that ensure participation by women with various identities. As part of the research process, this work would be validated through round table discussions by women. Data/information from this research would be relevant and replicable across various geographical contexts.
Low cost estimate includes staff time to coordinate a work team and a member workshop. High cost estimate would also include a contract for a researcher to develop a research product.
Cost estimate: $15,000-$40,000
