Residencies - In-situ testing of deliberative democracy tools around the Global South
Accepted
Practitioners from sub-regions of the Global South (Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America) will strengthen initiatives of deliberative democracy in the territory where they will take place. Each practitioner selected will stay one month in the city where the process will take place (October - November 2022). Each "resident" will work one month before and after the initiative with other practitioners to design, create and test a prototype or tool for implementing deliberative democracy processes. This process seeks for complementarity and team building capacity.
It will be part of the on-going project Demo-Reset, which aims to strengthen the ability of deliberation practitioners to carry out successful deliberative processes in unequal and polarized societies in the Global South, in partnership with the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and Extituto de Política Abierta.
Cost estimate: $25,000-$50,000

I think residences and exchanges are incredibly valuable. Good criteria for selecting the practitioner, and ensuring they are backed by a well structured organisation will help ensure the success of what can be a challenging 'ask' for an individual.
@AlunaSB & @extituto could you add additional information in the comments on the anticipated cost and scale of this proposal. Would it be for 5 residencies? How much per residency?
