2022 Budget
Decide what we do together
Develop Common Language: Concepts and Terminology
Our sector is evolving and we sometimes use different words to describe the same reality, the same type of activity, etc. If we want to increase the adoption of our practices by citizens and public decision-makers, we should use a common terminology. This could take the form of a common frame of reference and a terminology lexicon (via a wiki).
Low cost estimate includes staff time to coordinate a work team and a member workshop. High cost estimate would also include a contract for a researcher to develop a research product.
Cost estimate: $15,000-$40,000

This project will be also very helpful for people working on the translation of resources and materials.
That is a very important project. We need to understand each others and also be understood by the public and public leaders.
We could pilot this project with graduate students in 2022.
I will teach a graduate course on participatory democracy in Spring 2022, and this could be one of the assignments.
