Develop a body of work on displaced people that focuses on how a peoplepowered response considers and includes those who are displaced, refugees or otherwise left outside of democratic processes. Including those living in refugee camps, sometimes over generations, (e.g. Western Sahara, Palestine or Somalia, to name a few), or fleeing current conflicts (e.g. Syria and Afghanistan). Variously classed as migrants or refugees and so denied voting or citizenship rights. 86% of refugees are hosted by countries in the Global South, and this is likely to increase, fueling conflict, and harming global democracy. One focus may be on how they might participate inside their home nation (from which they are displaced), or take part in the democracy of their host nation. Or indeed develop global democracy structures that give voice (like the global climate assembly). The project might be in partnership, with another organisation such as https://www.idea.int/our-work/what-we-do/migration-democracy
