A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.

Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.

About this process

Welcome to the PP Decides 2024 results page!

Between October 4 and November 26 members were part of a participatory process where they decided on new organizational policies, activities to prioritize for 2024, and new board of directors members. Find more information about the process below.

Who voted

Member organizations, board members and staff were invited to vote. Up to 5 people that are part of member organizations were able to complete a ballot, each board member and staff member were able to complete one ballot.

Organizational Policies

In the organizational policies section, members voted on two types of policies:

  • Policies to implement: Developed and revised by People Powered staff based on feedback received from members. You will decide if these policies will be implemented in 2024.
  • Policies to develop: proposed by members or staff. You will decide if these policies will be developed in 2024.

Policies that received more than 50% of the approval of members that voted will be implemented or developed in 2024.

There is no limit on the number of policies to be selected.

2024 Activities

In the 2024 Activities section, members voted for activities of the 2024-26 strategic plan that will be prioritized for 2024. Please note that all activities in the strategic plan will be implemented between 2024 and 2026, as funding becomes available. During PP Decides 2024 members decided which ones to prioritize next year.

The activities on the ballot were the activities of the 2024-26 strategic plan that received the most support during the first stage of PP Decides (more than 10 supports). You can find commments from members in the conversations in PP Decides.

The 5 activities with the most votes will be prioritized in the People Powered 2024 goals. If the prioritized activities require additional funding, they will become fundraising activities. As previously mentioned, this year PP doesn’t count with additional funds to implement projects.

New Board of Directors members

In the 2024 board of directors selection, members voted for one candidate for the board of directors.

Candidates that received more than 50% votes to be members of the board of directors were considered as selected.
