2022 Budget
Decide what we do together
Civic Tech Products Catalogue
As the Civic Tech market keeps growing at a very fast pace and work of us -- the participation experts and practitioners -- is gradually more and more complex, create a simple, comprehensive, but very well thought through database of Civic Tech Products. Smart classification of features, languages, pricing, availability as well as level of experience of the very companies/teams would be very helpful. Such a resource would hugely help while advisory regarding the Civic Tech is demanded by the public sector clients.
Expenses would include a contractor to develop the database and staff administration time.
Cost estimate: $20,000

@tomasr how would this be different from the Civic Tech Field Guide (https://civictech.guide/) and other existing resources? Or different enough to make this a budget priority?
To not duplicate efforts- to focus on the digital participation guide first and use existing materials: https://www.demsoc.org/resources/digital-tools-digital-participatory-budgeting-resources Instead proposal could be on maintaining and building up the digital participation guide/civ tech product guidance
It could be more interesting if it includes exemples on how to foster inclusion using these technologies, with study cases.
