A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.

Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.

Members helped us to decide on the activities of the strategic plan that will be prioritized for implementation in 2024

Members helped us to decide which activities of the strategic plan will be prioritized to implement in 2024.

During 2023, People Powered members and staff co-created the strategic plan that will guide the work of the next three years (2024-2026). Then members prioritized the activities that we will implement in 2024. 

First, everyone was invited to learn about the final text of the strategic plan 2024-26, and to have conversations about what activities of each strategic direction should be implemented next year. We had video calls during this first stage and members were also able to contribute to different conversations asynchronously through this platform this to allow members to hear different points of view.

Then, our members voted for the activities they thought we should prioritize implementing in 2024.

The selected activities have bene prioritized in People Powered 2024 goals and plans. If they require additional funding, they have became fundraising priorities.
